Economic Reforms in Developing and Transition Countries : An Analysis of Post-1990 India and Romania

The post-1990 period witnessed the adoption of economic reforms by many developing and transition countries. While some countries experienced a single-transition to a free-market system, others underwent a dual-transition to free-markets and democracy. This study examines India and Romania as developing and transition countries, respectively, to understand the effects on selected economic and social indicators of these economic reforms. The goal is to identify differences in post-economic reform experiences and outcomes of single-transition versus dual-transition countries
