Effectiveness of Integration of Muslim Minorities in the EU (focusing on the Situation in the Czech Republic)
This contribution tries an example comparison of selected countries of the EU´s determination to uncover the causes and factors significantly different levels of integration of Muslim immigrants in these countries. One of the main ideas is the fact that effective integration is related primarily with the number of the members of minority, then secondary with the motive for the arrival of its members, with the level of education and social and economic status, then tertiary with other factors, e.g. with the existence and type of leaders in the minority, the homogeneity of the community, with public opinion and attitude of the majority society, media influence, with length of stay individual and generational horizont stay of Muslim minority in the country. The big role of course, itself a minority cultural diversity, including religion, and last but not least, the immigration and integration policies of the country. The aim of this paper is therefore not only give an overview of the situation eventually trends in the EU in this field, but also to reflect on the success of the integration of Muslim minorities in western societies and the question of how to proceed further.
