Effectiveness of Organizational Communication (Organizational Structure and Technology) in Education System of Iran

The main purpose of the present study was to investigate the effectiveness of organizational communication (organizational structure and technology) in Iran. In order to do this study we have focused on a Local Education Authority (LEA) of Ahwaz in Iran as one of the known and big city during the Third Five-Year Development Plan-(TDP) (2000-2004). The present study was conducted by using an analytic-descriptive method. All staff member who were serving in the LEA of Ahwaz during the TDP (2000-2004) made the population of this study. The sample was comprised of 120 employees who were randomly selected to fill out the research questionnaire. To carry out this investigation the researcher designed two kinds of instrument: a) a researcher-made questionnaire and b) a checklist of organizational structure and technology indicators using the TDP policies and regulations documents. The Cronbach alpha coefficient test for questionnaire was 0.89. To analyzing the data a descriptive such as the mean, standard deviation, variance and inferential evaluation; such as one sample t-test, paired t-test, ANOVA and variance analysis with repeated measures. The findings revealed that: 1) Organizational communication regarding the organizational structure in LEA during the TDP was preferred.2) Performance of LEA of Ahwaz based on changes in organizational structure at the end of the TDP was better than starting year. 3) Organizational communication regarding utilized technology in LEA during the TDP was not preferred. 4) Performance of LEA of Ahwaz based on changes in organizational technology at the end of the TDP was better than starting year. 5) Organizational communication regarding the organizational structure and utilized technology in LEA during the TDP was not preferred. 6) Performance of LEA of Ahwaz based on changes in organizational structure and technology at the end of the TDP was better than starting year. Limitations of the study were a) lack of sufficient statistical data related the studied years and b) change in the process of LEA managers and offices staffs
