Eine Kritik an der klassischen Framing - Studie, eine konzeptuelle Replikation und eine Bewertung der Prospect Theory.
The classic framing paradigm of decision research uses analogies from the Asian disease problem to test Prospect theory. This paradigm has been critizised for being susceptible to many disrupting influences and at the same time for allowing for alternative explanations of its obtained findings. On the basis of this critique several changes to the pradigm are being undertaken. Amongst others, the variants of the decision problem will be audio-visually presented and the results presented completely. In a variation of problem domain (gain vs. loss problem) and outcome frame (presentation of the outcomes as gains vs. losses) effects of preference reversal, which are predicted by Prospect theory, will be checked by the changed paradigm. Neither the predicted reflection effects nor framing effects can be replicated although preference changes do show up as dependent on the problem domains. On the basis of these findings and the foundations of past literature, Prospect theory will be put through a critical evaluation.
