Elements of evaluation of science and technology policy in Austria
Within the last two decades there has been a remarkable intensification of activities in science and technology in Austria, and these changes have recently been accompanied by distinct efforts towards the development of evaluation processes. Evaluation mainly concentrates on Austria's technology policy, on technology support programmes, and on transfer and diffusion activities. There is a persistent lack of evaluation of research policy and university research. A new dimension of evaluation has been opened up by Austria's membership of the European Union, but as yet no standardised tools have been developed, and there is no consistent framework or process of feedback for the evaluation process. There are elements of evaluation within Austria, but as yet there is no system of evaluation. Copyright , Beech Tree Publishing.
