Environmental and organisational determinants of strategic decision making

This research examines the nature and impact of environmental and organisational variables on strategy processes. The main objective of this research is to investigate how environmental and intraorganisational variables affect decision processes. To attain the objective, multiple regression analysis is applied to a sample of the Fortune 500 companies. The findings imply that environmental and organisational factors are crucial in the synoptic-incremental dimension. In line with contingency theory, this paper suggests that the strategic decision process is affected by the environment and organisational variables.
