ESG Disclosure and its Relationship with Corporate Financial Performance : The Case of S&P 500 Firms

Investors increasingly expect sustainable reporting to appropriately assess a company's commitment to future ethical, environmental, social, and governance actions. In addition, recent controversies and bankruptcy cases have prompted investors to seek greater transparency in information disclosure. One of the most often used proxies for assessing such sustainability is the ESG score.
