Estimation for a linear growth model
We consider the problem of estimating the intensity and growth rate parameters [lambda] and [nu] in a linear growth model. The arrival times of the first two points are used to get initial estimates, then maximum likelihood estimates are obtained. The method is applied to some simulated data and to some real data from experiments in neural biology.
