Europe Arab Bank counts on intercultural training : Courses highlight ways of building effective relationships
Purpose – Describes intercultural training and cross‐cultural awareness training at Europe Arab Bank. Design/methodology/approach – Explains the reasons for the training, the form it took and the results it has achieved. Findings – Highlights some of the practical tools needed to reduce cross‐cultural misunderstanding and encourage positive cross‐cultural working. Practical implications – Details how the bank benefited from better understanding of the cultural challenges facing multicultural workplaces. Social implications – Points up the importance of intercultural awareness in modern, multinational workplaces. Originality/value – Argues that developing the global‐leadership skills of international managers is key for any organization to succeed in a constantly changing and competitive environment.
