Evaluating support for technological research and innovation in some New Zealand businesses: a survey
The New Zealand government's Foundation for Research, Science and Technology helps companies with R&D through its Technology for Business Growth Programme. This paper assesses some impacts of that support on the performers of R&D in participating software, electronics and manufacturing companies. Twelve interview-based case studies were complemented by a questionnaire survey of 34 companies. Suggestions for enhancing R&D funding schemes emerged. Most respondents said involvement in TBG-funded projects had increased their technological capabilities and competitiveness. Copyright , Beech Tree Publishing.
