EValuation of Elements Responsible for the effective Engaged dose rates associated with the final STorage of radioactive waste : Everest project; Volume 1: Common aspects of the study

In the Everest project an assessment has been made of the quantitative impact in the long term on the performance estimators due to the variability and uncertainties affecting the various items entering into the performance assessment for a repository for radioactive waste (high-level as well as medium-level). The work includes model parameter variability, conceptual model differences, scenario characteristics, and future states of the repository system. Disposal concepts in three different host rock formations, clay, granite and rock salt have been considered. The institutions involved are ANDRA and IPSN (France), Ciemat and Enresa (Spain), ECN (the Netherlands), GRS and GSF (Germany) and SCK.CEN (Belgium). The results are published in two different EUR reports. A summary of the project and its main results are given in EUR 17122 EN, while the report, EUR 17449 EN, which presents all details of the study, consists of four different volumes divided into six parts: Volume 1, Volume 2A, Volume 2B, Volume 3A, Volume 3B, Volume 4.
