Evaluation of Three Chemical Hybridizing Agents in Brassica Juncea L

The effect of different concentrations of three chemical hybridizing agents namely, ethrel9 gibberellic acid and nirma detergent powder on pollen fertility and total yield was studied in Brassica juncea L. Different concentrations of all the chemical hybridizing agents were found to be effective in inducing complete pollen sterility in treated plants. It was interesting to note that plants sprayed once with 0.1 and 0.2% ethrel, 0,01% gibberellic acid showed increase in total yield/ plant. However, single treatment of 0.02% gibberellic acid and 2% nirma detergent caused insignificant reduction in total yield
