Exploring the Antecedents to Efficacy of Choosing the Right Career

The aim of the study is to examine the effect of different competencies on the Efficacy of choosing the right Career. We focused on six core competencies classified from three-dimension. Namely Reflective (Reflection on motivation, and on qualities), Communicative (Networking, and Self-profiling), and lastly Behavioral (Work exploration, and Career control). Data was collected from 250 people employed at different organizations by means of a close-ended questionnaire and analyzed using confirmatory factor analysis and structured equation modeling. The Results showed that Networking, Self-profiling, and Career control, belonging to Communicative, and Behavioral Dimensions, produce a significant positive impact on the Efficacy of choosing the right Career. Whereas Reflective dimension and Work exploration does not have a significant effect. The findings imply that employees have faith in their abilities to show which steps are important to achieve their career goals.
