This study examines the potential application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Local Government Units (LGUs) within the Zamboanga Peninsula (Region IX) in the Philippines. Through a comprehensive analysis of actual data, this study investigates the feasibility and effectiveness of utilizing AI technologies to enhance the governance processes and service delivery in the local government context. Utilizing a mixed-methods approach, including surveys, interviews, and case studies, the research explores the current state of AI adoption, the challenges faced by LGUs, and the perceived benefits of integrating AI into their operations. The study also examines the readiness of LGUs in terms of infrastructure, capacity, and policies required for successful AI implementation. The findings reveal that while there is a growing interest in AI adoption among LGUs in the Zamboanga Peninsula, several barriers hinder its widespread implementation. Key challenges include limited technical expertise, inadequate data infrastructure, and insufficient financial resources. However, the research identifies various potential benefits of AI implementation, such as improved service delivery, enhanced decision-making processes, and increased efficiency in resource allocation. Moreover, this research provides recommendations to policymakers, LGU officials, and relevant stakeholders to address the identified barriers and leverage the opportunities presented by AI. These recommendations include investing in capacity building programs, fostering partnerships with academic institutions and technology providers, and establishing clear guidelines and policies for AI utilization in the local government context
