Fabrication and Infrared Thermograms of Heating Fabrics Woven by Cnts Coated Yarns
CNTs yarns have become desirable alternatives for the metal wires in warmth health care clothing due to their features including flexibility, light weight, and mild far infrared emission. An efficient heating fabrics were prepared using CNTs yarns as wefts and metal core-spun yarns as electrode warps. Weaving is not only an important process for the textile formation, but also has great effects on their heating performance. To obtain favorable heating fabrics, the influence laws of weaving parameters on resistance of yarns and electrode were researched in this work. The resistance of CNTs yarns changed greatly with their elongation rate. So the weft tensions before weaving should be adjusted to make all yarns straight but not extended. In addition, biaxial warping was a better method than uniaxial warping to obtain flatter fabric surface, which can obviously affect the electrode resistance. The relational equation between the temperature requirements and the size of heating fabric pieces was put forward . Different heating clothing products can be designed flexibly based on this equation. Compared with other heating components on the market, the CNTs fabrics exhibit outstanding heating performance and have great prospects for large-scale industrial production
