Financial and Operational Performance of Private Sector of Bangladesh – A Case Study on Transcom Electronic Limited

This study is about the evaluation of financial and operational performance of private sector of Bangladesh. The research site was selected in a large multi product enterprise of Bangladesh. The paper evaluates various financial and operational aspects of Transcom Electronics Limited (TEL). The study aims at identifying factors responsible for production and operational inefficiencies, the extent of loss of production due to such identified factors as well as the extent of wastage being faced by and also suggesting the ways and means to stop such diseconomies, inefficiencies, and ineffectiveness in the operation of the business. The study also shed light on some important ratios of TEL to identify their financial strength, weakness, opportunities and threats. Such an evaluation is important for managerial and administrative purpose since it helps in planning, control and the formulation of future policies to cope with the modern, competitive and global economy
