Financijsko stanje i subvencije u zeljeznickom prometu : Usporedbe i rjesenja europskih i hrvatskih zeljeznica

The author in the article analyzes the financial position of European railways, including also Croatian railways with a special emphasis on subsidies and their relation towards gross domestic product. After carrying out the existing position and present solutions of these problems so far, there are pointed out future solutions of financing the maintenance and development of railway infrastructure based on procedure of internalization of traffic external costs, as well as other European and our orientations and solutions of the overall railway position. In view of presentation of future (possible) position of Croatian railways or railway traffic of the Republic of croatia as a branch, the author gives the GDP projection per capita and average wages, taking into account all the elements from estimate or long- term planning estimates from development strategy of the railway traffic system of the Republic of Croatia. Till 2020 as the most real is possible the moderate GDP per capita growth into which railway traffic could be inserted by growth of wages and subsidies' share into GDP within acceptable frames, respecting here the set frames which are derived from interrelation of growth of overall income and expenditure, as well as other constants.
