Framework for Business Values Chain Activities Using SOA and Cloud

Over the past decade a significant growth in software applications that are delivered in the form of services utilising the network infrastructure is witnessed and observed. Both SOA and cloud deals with delivering services to business with improved agility, increased speed and reduced cost that can lead to greater innovation and effective returns on investment. In this work we proposed an architecture that uses SOA principles and focus how architectural context support the use of cloud computing. It is based on service orientation and are commonly referred to as service-oriented architecture (SOA) or service-oriented systems (SOS). In this context, there has been a gradual evolution. The first generation of SOS, were based on monolithic components that could be reconfigured at compile time. Second generations of SOS are based on vertically integrated components that can be adapted and reconfigured at installation time, and to some extent at runtime. In the future, we expect an emerging third generation of service-oriented systems that can be integrated with cloud computing that will be cross-vertically integrated, agile, ad-hoc and reconfigurable in an autonomic and on-demand manner. Further this capability of integration can be utilised with the agreed benefit of cloud architecture and can be utilised to provide a business solution in the form of architecture to small and medium enterprises (SMEs)
