From local action to climate budget support : experiences from the Global Climate Change Alliance+
The Global Climate Change Alliance+ (GCCA+) is an initiative of the European Union (EU) which aims to strengthen dialogue and cooperation on climate change with developing countries most vulnerable to climate change. The GCCA+ focuses on least developed countries (LDC) and small island developing states (SIDS), which are often the most affected by climate change but have the fewest resources to tackle it. The initiative was launched in 2007 and is coordinated by the European Commission (EC). The three GCCA+ priority areas are: - Climate change mainstreaming and poverty reduction. - Increasing resilience to climate-related stresses and shocks. - Sector-based climate change adaptation and mitigation strategies.
