Genomic Signal Processing in the Framework of MVL

Genomic Signal Processing (GSP) has gained immense importance over the past few years. It is the science which identifies the frequency of each component, interdependency with the other and other transformations which uncover useful information from the sequences. A DNA is the primary construct of the gene and is brought into being to have lots of combinations of nucleotides: Adenine (A), Thymine (T), Cytosine (C) and Guanine (G). The processing of such a gigantic long chain leads to processing and storage constraints. In this paper, we have proposed Penta-Valued Logic (PVL) which is based on Multi-Valued Logic (MVL) by exploiting such constraints. A typical gene with one million permutations of sequences would require 1 MB space. With a terabyte storage system, one can practically store 1 million structures in the hard disk, and with the primary memory scale restricted to giga bytes, at the most 1,000 such structures can be primarily stored. The results showed rapid improvement in the storage capacity and processing capability.
