Globalisation of the Telecommunications and the Internationalisation of KPN (Netherlands)

This paper analyses the internationalisation strategies of the Royal Dutch telecommunication operator KPN in the context of the European liberalisation of the industry. KPN strategic positioning in the global sectors of mobile telecommunications, IP/ data services, internet, media services and services through fixed line network are compared. This product perspective of internationalisation is contrasted with a regional perspective, explaining the expansion of KPN’s global interests in Eastern Europe
