Globalization, Values, and International Law in the World of Work

This chapter explores the role of international law in the governance of globalization, with special attention to the contribution of international labour standards. Following a contextual overview, my perspectives comprise three aspects. I first address the current legal landscape of globalization, which some might call "bad news". I then turn to the potential role that law and values play in a fair governance of globalization, perhaps the "good news". Finally, I consider some of the new directions for the role of international law in globalizaion - what might become, in time, "tomorrow's news"
