How Crédit Suisse competes in the global war for talent : Successful relocation is the key to successful employment
Purpose – Examines the role of the ten‐strong global assignment management team at Credit Suisse, a leading global financial services company. Design/methodology/approach – Contains information gathered by the author in a presentation to journalists at the bank's Zurich headquarters by Denise Stüdi, global head of human resources, and Ottavia Salis Gross Hanna, who heads the global assignment management team. Findings – Reveals the reasons why recruiting global talent is so important to Credit Suisse and the way in which the global assignment management team manages the process. Practical implications – Highlights the potential rewards for companies – and whole countries – that perform well in the global war for talent. Originality/value – Contains plenty to interest large firms, particularly those operating in countries where the domestic labor market is small, or in sectors with particularly severe skill shortages.
