Impact of Implementation of Balanced Business Score Card (BBSC) on Organizational Effectiveness, with Special Reference to Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd. (BSNL)
Balanced Business Score Card is being implemented in most of the organizations as an effective tool of Strategic Implementation. Balanced Business Score Card integrates the organizations strategic objectives with the roles and functions of each and every individual in the organization. This paper is an attempt to find out the practical implications of implementation of BBSC in a large organization. For this study, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd. (BSNL) has been selected as a case in point because BSNL is a large organization having all India presence with more the 3.5 lac employees. Besides this, this organization deals with telecom services, for which all the four perspectives of BBSC are equally significant. The Telecommunication Sector in India has witnessed the tremendous growth both in urban and rural areas. The growth figures and story is quite impressive in quantitative terms. But there is lot of scope for increasing the customer satisfaction, quality of services and moreover, the Corporate Image of the organization. BSNL needs to gear up itself with full strength to cope up in this competitive scenario. The objectives of this paper are:- • To analyze the effect of implementation of BBSC on Organizational Effectiveness with special reference to BSNL. • Effectiveness of BBSC in bringing about change in the organization. This paper will attempt to find out the variables-visible & invisible, both, which subsequently have direct impact on Organizational Effectiveness. At both levels, individual & organizational, the impact of BBSC will be studied & analyzed. At individual level, the focus will be on Employee-Attitude & Motivation Levels, At organizational level, the emphasis will be on Growth Pattern & Productivity Levels of the organization. The primary data will be collected mainly through interview method from the employees spread access various hierarchical levels of the organization. The significance of the Study lies in the fact that the findings of the paper may be generalized for all kinds of large organization
