Implementation and applications of a trajectory model

Trajectory models have been used by the meteorological community to study transport phenomena in the atmosphere since many years. In particular it is often applied to environmental problems connected with source-receptor relationship. During emergencies, like accidental release of airborne harmful material, they are frequently the first tools used in the analysis of the situation. Later they can be also utilised for diagnostic studies and analyses. This EU report is devoted to present all the relevant issues to implementation and application of a trajectory model FLEXTRA. The report provides the reader both a general overview of using trajectory models, implementation issues and description of application to Algerciras and Paks cases.
