Implementing steps to develop and promote European music export : executive summary

In 2018, answering a call from the European Commission, a consortium of music organisations led by the CNM and including the European Music Exporters Exchange (EMEE), a network of 29 music export organisations from 25 countries, undertook a study and established the first foundations of a European Music Export Strategy (EMES) with a central vision that it should not matter in which European country an artist or a music entrepreneur is born and getting started - all across Europe should have equal opportunities to develop their talent, initiatives and realise their full international potential. This strategy put forward a 6‑step development path towards increasing music export capacity across Europe and also provided a toolbox with blueprints for practical measures needed to move forward.
