Integrating IoT and Cloud Computing in Aquaponics and Aeroponics Methods
This chapter is just a presentation of the application of IoT and cloud computing to aquaponics and aeroponics, modern technologies used for the sustainable production of food. IoT devices allow real-time monitoring and automation to optimize various conditions that include water quality, nutrient levels, and environmental factors to give crop yields and fish health. Cloud computing allows the storage, handling, and remote assessment of data—hence predictive analytics and informed decision-making. Especially with the help of these technologies, especially systems such as aquaponics and aeroponics, it provides better efficiency, scalability, and resource efficiency especially on being put up against issues like resource scarcity and environmental impacts. The chapter covers technological architecture, implementation strategies, and foreseen benefits, but it also takes into consideration challenges related to data security and system interoperability.
