Managers can model various merit‐pay options to find out which one works best. Executives can see where managers are falling behind with the process. In addition, the system enables managers to work in the currency with which they are most familiar. Practical implications – The new system gives a complete overview of the merit‐review process worldwide across all areas of the InterContinental Hotels Group business. Originality/value – Contains much to interest companies with complex merit‐pay systems, and geographically dispersed operations.
