Internet of Things in Russia : Perspectives of Adoption and Development

The article deals with the perspectives of Internet-of-Things (IoT) technologies adoption and development in Russia, which gain much importance during the digital transformation of economic relations and Industry 4.0 shift, due to their optimization potential. Using IoT technologies leads to full or partial automatization of technological process which is accompanied by the replacement of labour with innovation systems. The perspectives of using IoT in Russian economy are to be studied in terms of specific characteristics of its institutional system, technical base level and data management issues. Generating big data while using internet-of-things associated devices allows to analyze much information in order to boost the effectiveness of certain systems and achieve some economic targets of organizations. The authors consider the adoption and development of internet of things in Russia in the field of energetics, healthcare, transport and logistics and analyze the possible problems of its implementation. There are government programs supporting the development of industrial internet of things (IIoT). The comprehensive approach to the industrial transformation based on the new trends and opportunities can make the industries work in a more effective way. And the costs of IoT launching can be compensated and surpassed by the multiple positive effect caused by using them
