Introduction to Competition Policy : Experiences from Brazil, Portugal, Angola, and Mozambique

This manuscript seeks to introduce the concepts present in competition legislation of four Portuguese-speaking countries for new competition officials and operators to grasp essential concepts. Although not a new subject, economic changes in several countries have served as a backdrop to drive antitrust development around the world. In the African continent, competition laws have been passed almost exponentially in all countries of the continent since the 1990s. Passing pro-competition legislation and implementing it, however, remains a challenge in almost all jurisdictions. By revising concepts and giving some examples from Portuguese speaking countries, I aim to support young professionals from different backgrounds to start learning about competition policy
