Java's Green Revolution in long-term perspective

The author challenges the view that the failure to implement land reform in the past has hindered agricultural productivity. Providing some useful new data, he describes how the Green Revolution in the countryside introduced under the New Order has led to substantial and sustained increase in production. He predicts that this will continue. He notes, however, that the past failure of land reform has resulted in the unequal distribution of the benefits of agricultural development. (DÜI-Sen)
