Joan Robinson created a large number of myths in her lifetime aimed at attacking Keynes, such as the claim about R. Kahn inventing and teaching Keynes about the Multiplier, her claim that Keynes’s ‘instantaneous ‘ multiplier is highly suspect, her claim that Keynes had a purely monetary theory of the rate of interest, her claim that there is no IS-LM model in the General Theory, her claim that users of the IS-LM model that Keynes created are Bastard Keyesians, her claim that J. Hicks is the inventor of the IS-LM model, her claim that Keynes had never taken the twenty minutes necessary to learn the theory of value, her claim that Kahn was responsible for developing Keynes’s aggregate supply function in the General Theory, etc. This paper deals with one of her many claims about M. Kalecki. It was her claim that Kalecki had published a version of the General Theory in Polish in articles in 1933-35 before Keynes published the General Theory in 1936.Anyone who has read and understood chapters 20 (D-Z model) and 21 (IS-LM model) of the General Theory, where Keynes uses his D-Z model to analyze the impact on present levels of employment of businessmen’s evaluations of the accuracy of their forecasts of future expected prices and profit, and not Kalecki’s analysis based on past, realized prices and profits, will immediately realize at once that Kalecki’s theory has nothing to do with Keynes’s.This paper will concentrate on another fact that makes Robinson’s claims nonsensical. Given Keynes’s emphasis on the role of uncertainty in the General Theory, which he defined as an inverse function of his ‘evidential weight of the argument’, as analyzed in chapters 6 and 26 of his A Treatise on Probability, the fact that Kalecki has NO SUCH FUNCTION in his theory, due to his acceptance of the Limiting Frequency Interpretation of Probability, means that it is impossible for Kalecki to have had any Liquidity Preference theory of the rate of interest, as the Townshend-Keynes correspondence of 1937-38 demonstrates. The Liquidity preference theory of the rate of interest is based on Keynes’s evidential weight of the argument, a concept which never appears in any published or unpublished paper of Kalecki’s in his lifetime or of Joan Robinson’s. Kalecki has no model that is equivalent to Keynes’s D-Z model of Expected aggregate demand (D) and Expected aggregate supply(Z),where the D=Z intersection represents expected, future results and not Kalecki’s past,realized results. For Keynes, Involuntary Unemployment is due to a lack of confidence about expected future returns leading to increases in liquidity preference and severe decreases in spending. It has nothing to do with rigid money wages.For Kalecki, Involuntary Unemployment is due to decreased actual returns. Unemployment has nothing to do with uncertainty, future expectations or a lack of confidence for Kalecki
