This article provides an introduction to fundamental issues in the development of knowledgebased enterprise. After placing emergence of the new science discipline - knowledge based economy in historical perspective and proposing a theoretical framework, the authors deal with improvement of knowledge processes in a enterprise. They go on to deal with some of the major issues concerning the dynamic models of knowledge; and its integration into business processes.
