Digital platforms are becoming more widespread in the economies of states, which is expressed not only in the formation of new business areas, but also in changing the competitive environment in existing ones. In fact, there is a clash of old forms with new ones, which requires a certain reaction on the part of the legislator.If we talk about the definition of digital platforms, then they may be qualified not only as independent business entities, but also as services available to users.It is the different nature of transactions that makes it possible to distinguish separate varieties among digital platforms. In particular, payment and settlement platforms, innovation platforms, training platforms, social platforms and others.The question is whether to separate information and integration platforms into an independent form? Indeed, at its core, all digital platforms are associated with the transmission and receipt of information and their goal is to integrate users.Another question concerns the activities of digital platforms in general and can be formulated as follows: does this area require regulation by the state or should digital platforms be self-regulating systems?
