Living spaces, cities and regions shaping the built environment for everyone : living spaces : final report : executive summary

Through a catalogue of 30 good practices and 12 onsite thematic peer-learning visits, Living Spaces - Cities and regions shaping the built environment for everyone (Living Spaces) addressed the need for cities and regions to implement integrated and sustainable urban development strategies that promote high-quality architecture and a built environment accessible to all. Funded by the Creative Europe programme, the initiative was delivered by Eurocities and the Architects' Council of Europe, aligning with recommendations from the 2021 EU Member State Expert Group Report, Towards a Shared Culture of Architecture - Investing in a High-Quality Living Environment for Everyone. The initiative aimed to strengthen the ability of cities and regions to develop and implement architecture policies that prioritise sustainability, inclusivity, and innovation, particularly through community participation. It sought to disseminate good practices and foster cross-European cooperation to bridge gaps in capacity, while empowering policymakers to better coordinate efforts across sectors. Living Spaces supported the exchange of knowledge, showcased successful architectural strategies, and encouraged the development of robust, high-quality urban policies across Europe.
