Magyarország és Szlovénia úton az Európai Unióba

The study compares the socio-economic situation of two Central-European countries Slovenia and Hungary in the light of the future EU-membership. To compare the two countries is very reasonable because the level of development is more or less the same, though Slovenia precedes Hungary in some fields. The author summarizes the different and the almost identical features of both countries in the areas of population and economy. She describes the changes which took place in the time of the so-called "turning point", the structural framework of the evolvement after the period of regression and the changes in the economic units. The author offers an analysis on the role of foreign capital as well as the financial situation and their social effects in both countries. Finally she draws up the present state of both countries on the way to the full EU-membership. (SOI : St.Sz.: S. 472)
