Managing meta-data in Stata

A collection of user-written commands will be presented, which in one way or another facilitate dealing with metadata -- from manipulation and presentation of variable names and types, through labels, notes, and other metadata fields included with data files, and on to a command for accessing small text databases for inter-related datasets.
