Mystical Veiled Configuration of Agile Operant Resources for Profitability in Family Businesses of Pakistan
PurposeResources act as an arms which often facilitate firm’s sustainable performance in volatile business market. Least studies emphasised the agile operant resources that propel family firm profitability. The aim of this article is to show the concealed role of agile operant resources of firm owners that expedite FOBs in profitability to ensure firms sustainability.Design/Methodology/ApproachThis research deploy relativistic perspective resides on interpretive worldwide. For data collection, purposive/judgmental sampling is used. While directing interviews, open-ended questionnaire (interview guide) along with observations are used. Abductive research accompanied by Gioia methodology has been utilized for broader themes of discussion.FindingsThe findings indicated relationship proneness, reputational resources, religious resources, agile soft skills, performance efficiency & excellency as hidden agile intangible resources which facilitate family firms of catering profitability. Present article posited a conceptual framework which escort family firms to cater profitability.Practical ImplicationsThe propound framework contribute to the present literature of family firms by inspecting the mystical role of agile resources and recommend practioners to polish these resources that supports to enhance profitability which leads family firm’s sustainability.Originality/ValueCurrent study is contributing to indicate the mystical veiled role of agile operant resources by studying the challenges of FOBs in today’s dynamic world especially in developing economies. The literature supports more information and theories regarding developed economies. Present research manifests the canvas of developing economy and how wave of dynamism has transformed the business landscape of FOBs. In-depth interviews were conducted for deep insights which supports in contributing towards family business literature
