Net Metering Market in Pakistan : Status, Challenges, and the Way Forward

In this context, the Government has decided to increase the share of renewable energy to 30% of total energy generation by 2030. Among other initiatives to achieve this outstanding target, GoP also introduced a net metering policy in 2015. The introduction of net metering aimed to utilize the untapped solar energy potential domestically to increase the renewable energy share. However, the growth of the net metering market in Pakistan remained passive due to several challenges.
