Network Model of Cemac Banks : An Approach Based on Network Theory

English Abstract: The interbank market of the Economic and Monetary Community of Central Africa (EMCCA) is still developing and its structure is unknown. Information on the level of connectivity and the network model of the banks in this area could help the regulatory authorities to define the appropriate policies for this financial market, in order to make it more resistant to a shock. In this work, we characterize, on the one hand, the level of connectivity of the interbank market in the EMCCA zone and, on the other hand, the structure of the financial network of the said zone, between the period of January 2013 and January 2018. As a result, the EMCCA interbank network is weakly connected and has a scale-free network model in which there are several banks with few connections and few banks with several connections
