Nutrition Education Research Brief: Message Framing, Use of Interactive Technology to Tailor Messages and Intervention Intensity.

This research brief is intended to assist nutrition educators in assessing whether specific characteristics of nutrition messages promote desired dietary behavior changes. Based on a computerized literature search targeting peer-reviewed journal articles, it highlights three topics pertinent to the design of nutrition education programs—message framing, use of interactive technology to tailor messages, and intervention intensity. While some promising results were found to be associated with these methods, there was no firm evidence that these features enhance the effectiveness of nutrition programs.
