The targets of the national economic plan are designed topromote the high rate of our country's economic developmentand the steady rise in the effectiveness of social production. In order to meet these targets it will be necessary to acceleratethe practical introduction of scientifically substantiatedmethods for the elaboration of optimal economic developmentplans on the basis of medium- and long-range forecasts ofprogress in science and technology into the practice of compilingstate plans. An important part in the resolution of theseproblems belongs to modern electronic computer technologyand economic-mathematical methods.
