One-Stop Shop : Overview and Characterization for Government Effectiveness, Evidence From Afghanistan and Azerbaijan

The discourse of one-stop shops and governmental effectiveness is such that has drawn related focus across the globe. A one-stop shop is connected with the ease of doing business. This paper tends to review the operations of a one-stop-shop and the general characterization for government effective by drawing our cases from Afghanistan and Azerbaijan. The initiative of one-stop shops in these countries has led to a total reduction in the quest for business registration and licensing. The study reviewed that for Azerbaijan it took over 60 days to register a business outlet while for Afghanistan is took over 13 days or more with lots of administrative hurdles but with the establishment of a one-stop shop the time and administrative time and cost have been reduced drastically these reforms have led to an increase in business outlets. Thus, leading to an increase in business growth and enhancement of economic progress it is, therefore, recommended that there should be a political will that will be able to drive the one-stop shop initiative by this government effectiveness will be sustained
