Optimizing The Management Of Freight Flows In The Supply Chain

In the present article there is discussed the possibility for optimizing the management of freight flows in the supply chain, which is a prerequisite for ensuring the competitive advantage of the firm. There has been designed a suitable single product multistage model and has been demonstrated the positive effect of its use in the activity of concrete work centres and the supply chain of concrete. This model provides the opportunity to determine the capacity and specialization of new sites or in certain cases the closing of functioning sites, the economic expedience of future operation, the economic effectiveness of the type of construction at the new sites, the need for investments and the allocation of the latter among the sites, as well as transport communications.
