Patent Litigation in the UK : Solutions in Search of a Problem?

The issue of Patent enforcement in the UK has generated a lot of heat, but not much light in the last year. Despite the lack of comprehensive empirical evidence of demand, a number of policy documents have focused on facilitating affordable patent litigation for small and medium sized firms. Based on an Opinion Report by the same author that contributed to SABIP's response to Justice Jackson's Civil Litigation Costs Review, this paper unpacks several aspects of patent litigation reform in the UK, including PCC reform, the role of the UKIPO and insights from other jurisdictions
