Patent Mapping on Electrical Energy Sector Through Visualization Approach

In this paper authors have tried to highlight some new areas of patent analysis by using visualizing and neural network based approaches. This paper creates patent map that represents all technological categories and a method to locate patent data of electrical energy sector. This mapping technique may support competitive intelligence and policy decision-making. The author used visualization approach to generate patent map based on weight of keyword in patent documents and their corresponding filling date. The author also used neural network based approach to detect importance of patents particularly on electrical energy sector. Evaluation and capturing temporal changes in sector specific innovation activities or patterns of technological changes and broader changes from hierarchical to structured knowledge in technology domain performed with help of these tools
