Physical Asset Governance : A Critical Reviewof Iran Thermal Power Generation Sector

Physical Assets play a critical role in infrastructures. Physical Asset governance is the required framework to implement asset management systems, including regulations and procedures that ensure its efficiency and effectiveness. Due to the dominant contribution of thermal power plants in responding to electric power demand in Iran, taking asset management plans of this sector into account is of great importance. Hence, this article intends to examine current situation of the asset governance in Iran thermal power generation sector from a critical perspective, and recognize the underlying challenges, and eventually propose promising solutions to address them
