Metoda conjoint analysis measurement została pierwotnie zaproponowana na gruncie badań psychometrycznych. W zastosowaniach marketingowych służy do pomiaru preferencji konsumentów względem produktów opisanych wektorem zmiennych, które mierzone są na skali nominalnej (w analizie pełnią one rolę zmiennych niezależnych). Preferencje konsumentów (zmienna zależna) mierzone są na skali porządkowej, przedziałowej lub ilorazowej. Oceny respondentów podlegają dezagregacji. W rezultacie otrzymuje się współczynniki użyteczności cząstkowych wykorzystywane w badaniach marketingowych w celu 3:a) określenia relatywnej ważności każdej zmiennej przy wyborze produktu lub usługi przez nabywcę,b) określenia użyteczności każdego poziomu danej zmiennej,c) oszacowania (prognozowania) udziału w rynku wybranych produktów lub usług,d) segmentacji rynku.The article presents the application of the conjoint measurement method for the selection of conditions of student accommodation. Each variant of the accommodation was described with the aid of six nominal variables: Z1 - place of accommodation (student's hostel, rented quarters), Z2 - payment for one month (100-150; 150-200; 200-250), Z3 - access to the kitchen (yes, no), Z4 - free access to the quarters (yes, no), Z5 - number of persons sharing the accommodation (one, two, three), Z6 – distance from school of higher learning (nearby, close, far). The study dealt with 133 students of the Economic Academy in Wroclaw. Up on the basis of distinguished variables and corresponding levels, the authors created an evaluated by giving the probability of their choice. The assessments of' the respondents constituted a basis for using the conjoint measurement method for estimating coefficients of fragmentary usefulness, which were employed in order to:a) Determine the relative importance of each variable for the choice of an accommodation variant, made by the students;b) Determining the usefulness of each level of a given variable; c) Estimate (predict) the participation of the selected accommodation variants on the market,d) Distinguish segments of students with similar selection preferences and estimate the presence of select accommodation variants
