Private and public finance in regional development

Investment activity in the region is considered as a resulting indicator of investment potential and investment climate. The comparative assessment of investment activity in regions of the Far Eastern federal district of Russia is given. The problem of increase of investment activity and the role of public and private investments in regional development is studied on the example of one of the northern regions of the Far East of Russia - the Magadan Oblast. On the basis of investment projects of Magadan Oblast the investment capacity of the region is estimated and the contribution of these projects to social and economic development - in growth of a gross regional product and population is defined. The assessment of change of investment activity in Magadan Oblast depending on the scale of the investment project has been done. The measures of regional investment policy promoting realization of investment potential are offered. The calculations confirming their efficiency for the investor and the state are undertaken.
