Privatization in an African context : The case of the United Republic of Tanzania

Few African countries have made significant progress in the direction of privatisation. A major reason for this has been the lack of a realistic assessment of the requirements and capabilities needed to carry out successful privatisation: terms of financial support, policy initiatives, investment promotion and most importantly, human resource devlopment.
